the Last of Us Season 2 Teaser Has Us All Worried Ahead of April Premiere

Crafting an adaptation of a video game is no easy task; take a look at all those that have failed in the past. And when something does as well as The Last of Us on HBO, the people working on it deserve all the praise. The faithfulness and realisation of a narrative beloved by many is vital for the show, but that also means come The Last of Us Season 2, many would dread the events to follow.

The latest teaser for the show has dropped, and while we are more than excited about the April 2025 premiere, it also means that a fateful showdown will inevitably go down.

Showcasing a variety of iconic scenes from the video gaame, we get to see the returning Joel (Pedro Pascal) and Ellie (Bella Ramsey), as well as the introduction of a new character—Abby ( Kaitlyn Dever). Walking down the hospital corridor where bad things have obviously happened, we also see Abby sporting the unmistakable symbol of the Fireflies as she tries to find out what happened. We also catch quick cuts of Tommy and his crew, as well as Ellie, Joel, and Dina, with things bound to get spicy.

The narrative of the source material, The Last of Us Part II, will take at least two seasons to cover, and Abby is central to the plot alongside Ellie. For now, Season 2 of The Last of Us is set approximately five years after the events of the first season, and the fallout from the ending of the first season will catch up with our favourite duo.

Once again collaborating with the team at PlayStation Productions, the series and its focus on the Cordyceps fungus and the havoc wreaked on humanity will return in a 7-episode format.

The Last of Us Season 2 continues to be written and produced by the duo of Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann, with direct involvement from Naughty Dog. Season 2 will premiere sometime in April 2025.
