The Nintendo Switch 2 Reveal is Reportedly Imminent

the Nintendo Switch 2 Official Reveal is Reportedly Imminent

The world’s worst-kept secret is that Nintendo is preparing to move to its next-generation console—the Nintendo Switch 2. With leaks upon leaks, the only problem is that the company has thus far refused to say anything concrete about the new product in the pipeline. That has naturally driven speculation from fans, and for those eagerly waiting for an update, there might just be good news this week.

Nintendo has not officially spoken about it yet, but signals have come from a semi-reliable source — the Nate the Hate podcast. The podcast mentioned that Nintendo will officially introduce the Nintendo Switch 2 this week, more specifically on January 16. This initial reveal will focus solely on the hardware, with little discussion about the lineup of games supporting its release.

Usually, we would take this kind of information with a pinch of salt, but interestingly, this information has also been corroborated by three trusted gaming sites—Eurogamer, The Verge, and VGC, which have heard somewhat of the same plans in motion. A second showcase, focused on the games for Nintendo Switch 2, is expected to take place in February or March later this year.

The reveal is one thing, but the release date is much more exciting to learn about, and to that point, the podcast points to a May or June release. That doesn’t leave much runway ahead of launch, but for Nintendo, the hype feeds itself. A major title that is supposedly a launch title will be the latest entry in the Mario Kart franchise, which is always a good system seller.

Nintendo itself has yet to provide any comment regarding this latest rumour, and it is highly unlikely that the stance will change. However, as and when Nintendo is ready, the world is more than happy to welcome news of the Nintendo Switch 2.
