It has been about six years since Flashbulb Games‘ Trailmakers was first launched after an Early Access period, giving players the keys to a vehicle-based open-world adventure. Over 5 million players have since tried their hand with the game’s tools, and now, the studio is preparing for a comprehensive 2.0 overhaul with Trailmakers: Pioneers, coming on March 6.
The key highlights include survival gameplay, a new campaign mode, and an enhanced and intuitive block crafting system that gets you closer to your dream build. Across land, air, and sea, you will be able to create more vehicles to go up against new threats in any of the four vast open world maps, either solo or with up to seven other players along for the ride.
“With Pioneers, we’re taking Trailmakers to the next level as a complete reinvention that deepens gameplay, expands creative possibilities, and welcomes a new generation of players,” said Flashbulb Games co-founder, Ole Teglbjærg.
“Trailmakers has always been part of Flashbulb’s DNA since our studio’s founding and Pioneers is our biggest content launch as a studio to date. But this isn’t the end for Trailmakers; we’ve got more content in the works that will continue to expand the limitless potential of creative freedom in our sandbox.”
Trailmakers: Pioneers Key Features
- Physics-Driven Construction: Build simple survival vehicles to massive, technical machinery with a system that reacts to weight, environments, and terrain. Go all out with designs or optimize for efficiency.
- Campaign and Survival Mode: Upgrade and progress by finding different blocks for different vehicles, gathering resources, and fighting against the evil BOTNAK corporation.
- Mega Expeditions: The Pioneers map expands across a 10km x 10km plane, offering vast landscapes for daring explorers, ambitious builders, and high-speed racers.
Trailmakers is currently available on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox One. The game is also available as a free download for Xbox Game Pass subscribers.
