Ubisoft Forward: A Kingdom of Updates for The Prince of Persia Franchise

a Kingdom of Updates for the Prince of Persia Franchise

For a company that tends to make the most out of its various franchises, The Prince of Persia can be considered criminally underused at Ubisoft, at least until recent times. Having made platforming even more fun with time-controlling powers, there was always going to be demand for more adventures for our hero, and at Ubisoft Forward 2024, that’s exactly what we got.

From major free title updates on Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown and The Rogue Prince of Persia, to a much-needed drop of information for the Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time remake, Ubisoft definitely went out of its way to show some love to the fans.

Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown

The highly anticipated Divine Trials free update is now available in Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown players. You can look forward to 22 new expert challenges to push your skills to the maximum and test your mettle.

By accessing the Hall of Memorials through a special door located in the Haven, choose from four sets of challenges that become progressively more difficult and are designed with unique exotic conditions.

Whether it’s platforming, puzzles, combat or even newly reworked Boss Battles, these will be a true test of your skills as the Prince. Trials are gradually unlocked as each new power is acquired. However, players who have already completed the trials will get direct access to all of them at once, in their existing saves.

Prince of Persia the Lost Crown Divine Trials

By attempting and conquering the Divine Trials, there will be four new amulets and outfits up for grabs. And if that’s not enough, the glimpse of the Mask of Darkness story DLC should keep you wanting more before September 2024.

The Rogue Prince of Persia

The recently released and critically acclaimed 2D fast-paced platformer roguelite The Rogue Prince of Persia also dropped its first major title update during Ubisoft Forward. The Temple of Fire adds a vibrant yet treacherous new biome in which players will have to mobilise all their skills to overcome new enemies, traps, and traversal challenges.

Evil Empire has spiced up the experience with 2 new mobs, the Shielded Warrior and Duellist, as well as one new weapon, the Flaming Censers. This update also introduces the Meta Progression Skill Tree, which allows players to use Spirit Glimmers to unlock persistent improvements.

The Temple of Fire is the first major content addition among multiple updates leading up to the 1.0 launch of the game, with community feedback being vital in shaping what is to come in the future.

Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time

As for the highly anticipated remake of the classic, there is much more waiting to do for fans. In 2026, players will get to reconnect with their beloved Prince in an adventure rebuilt from the ground up, capturing the magic of the original game.

The game has successfully completed its pre-production phase and is now entering full production, with Ubisoft Toronto, Ubisoft Bucharest, Ubisoft Pune and E-Studio joining forces with Ubisoft Montréal.
