Enjoy Vampire Survivors with New Contra Crossover Operation Guns

One of the biggest successes of 2023 continues to push the boundaries even more, as Poncle‘s Vampire Survivors welcomes another piece of DLC, this time with plenty more firepower with Operation Guns. As the name suggests, firearms are being added to the fun, and we all know the arcade legend that is Contra is well placed for that very purpose, thus the crossover.

Operation Guns embraces the visceral simplicity of classic Contra, with build-focused Characters that encourage min-maxing and stat manipulation, a tonne of weapons (we’re talking 22 including evolutions!), and a difficulty curve that combines quintessentially arcade-hard gameplay with the Vampire Survivors formula,” reads the description of the new content.

With 11 new characters to experiment with and the aforementioned 22 new weapons to play with, it is quite a substantial addition to the already impressive base game. For playable characters, think cybernetic warriors and even a “half-man, half-wolf, half-robot, and 150% super soldier.” As for weapons, get ready to lay waste to the hordes using “Contra Force’s radical arsenal with almost-homing missiles, a bevy of high-tech blasters, and the ever faithful Spread Shot.”

Furthermore, players will be able to conquer the new areas of Galuga Jungle, Neo City, and the treacherous Alien Zone, biomes inspired by classic Contra levels. To round things off, the DLC also includes an extensive selection of classic tracks and covers, just to put you in the mood for more undead slaying as part of Vampire Survivors: Operation Guns.
