With its July 4 launch rapidly approaching, the anticipation for Zenless Zone Zero is only getting more fervent. To further celebrate the release, HoYoVerse has released the game’s debut music track, ZENLESS, which is a collaboration with Grammy Awards winner DJ-Producer Tiësto, one of the most renowned musicians in the world.
Featuring the game’s unique narrative and vibrant in-game elements, the music, composed by Tiësto and DJ duo Lucas & Steve, is an epic fusion of music and gaming; this electrifying track blends Tiësto’s iconic big-room beats, Lucas & Steve’s distinctive future house style, and sound samples from Zenless Zone Zero to create a soundscape that captures the excitement and sense of adventure in the game.
“I’m inspired by the fascinating sounds and visual design from Zenless Zone Zero and wanted to amplify the excitement of the game in the music,” said Tiësto. “I’m so excited to work with HoYoverse – it has been an amazing experience to integrate my music into this incredible game!”
This musical partnership would not be possible without the newly revealed creative design entity, Sān-Z. This has allowed various elements of Zenless Zone Zero to be seamlessly infused into the track, such as the voice of in-game assistant Fairy. Furthermore, the team also made use of TV screens to reproduce the game’s unique art style in the track.
The release of ZENLESS marks the first global music collaboration for the action role-playing title. It is likely that more such partnerships will follow, especially as HoYoverse looks to create a comprehensive and immersive experience for players both in-game and in real life.
Zenless Zone Zero will launch on July 4th at 10:00 AM (UTC+8) on PlayStation 5, PC, iOS, and Android. In a world where supernatural disasters called Hollows have destroyed modern society, players will take on the role of a Proxy to navigate and guide adventurers in the dangerous Hollows. Together with unique characters, players will defeat enemies, complete commissions, and unravel the mysteries behind New Eridu, the last remaining city.
