From Couch Co-op to Real Kitchen Chaos
Few games have captured the spirit of cooperative chaos quite like Overcooked. The 2016 hit has become a household name, a party favourite that tests friendships and reflexes as much as cooking skills. Now, its signature blend of stress and laughter is heading to the small screen.
According to a report from Deadline, Netflix is developing an Overcooked reality competition series, produced by A24, the award-winning studio behind films such as Everything Everywhere All at Once and Beef.
The show will reportedly feature intense, fast-paced cooking challenges inspired by the game’s chaotic kitchens, forcing contestants to work together under pressure and likely against absurd, Overcooked-style obstacles.
Ghost Town Games Is Involved

The adaptation is still in early development, but Overcooked’s original developer, Ghost Town Games, is said to be working closely with A24 and Netflix to ensure the series stays true to the spirit of the game. No release date or casting details have been announced yet.
First released in 2016, Overcooked became an instant indie sensation for its simple premise and frantic gameplay loop. It went on to win a BAFTA Game Award in 2017 and spawned multiple sequels, cementing its reputation as one of the most beloved party games of the past decade.
If A24 and Netflix manage to capture even a fraction of that energy in live action, Overcooked: The Reality Show could serve up one of the most entertainingly stressful TV experiences to date.
