Another God of War Project May Be on the Horizon
Sony closed its recent State of Play with confirmation that the original Greek-era God of War trilogy is being remade, a move that instantly reignited discussion around Kratos’ early saga. Yet the remake may not be the only project currently in development at Santa Monica Studio.
New hints suggest that an entirely separate God of War title could be revealed later this year.
Christopher Judge’s On-Stream Slip
The speculation stems from comments made by Christopher Judge, the voice of Kratos in the Norse-era entries. While answering questions from YouTuber Fuzhpuzy, Judge clarified that he is not involved in the upcoming remake of the Greek trilogy.
According to Judge, TC Carson, the original voice actor from the Greek trilogy, is returning for that project. He also noted that the remake is expected to feature more than just visual upgrades, including new content and modernised combat systems.
More significantly, Judge mentioned that another new God of War game, one he is directly involved in, is scheduled to be officially announced in Summer 2026.
What Could the Next Chapter Be?
Judge did not elaborate on the nature of this new project, but his involvement strongly suggests a continuation of the Norse-era storyline or a new direction featuring the modern iteration of Kratos.
Rumours have circulated for years regarding potential future settings, including Egyptian mythology, while others speculate about a narrative pivot that could reconnect Kratos with his Greek past in new ways.
For now, there has been no official confirmation from Sony Santa Monica Studio. If Judge’s comments hold true, however, fans may not have to wait long to learn what comes next.
