The Division Resurgence Is Now Available Worldwide on iOS and Android

Ubisoft has launched Tom Clancy’s The Division Resurgence worldwide on iOS and Android, bringing the series’ third-person looter-shooter structure to mobile as a free-to-play release. Resurgence is set in New York City during the Green Poison outbreak, positioned between the events of The Division and The Division 2, and built around a standalone campaign rather than a condensed retelling.

The mobile launch is notable because Ubisoft is not pitching Resurgence as a companion app or a simplified side experience. The company is presenting it as a full-scale Division loop designed for handheld play, with the franchise’s familiar pillars intact: cover-based combat, gear progression, specialisations, and a mix of solo, co-op, PvP, and PvPvE activities.

A New Campaign Set in a Fracturing New York

Tom Clancy’s The Division Resurgence casts players as newly activated agents operating as institutions collapse and opportunistic factions move in. The campaign is built around main missions that push players into firefights, civilian protection, and stabilisation efforts across the open world.

Ubisoft is also leaning on onboarding through a dedicated bootcamp tutorial, intended to teach core systems such as cover mechanics and early specialisation choices. The game supports solo play or squads of up to four players, allowing co-op progression through story missions and open-world activities.

Specialisations and Progression Are Central, Not Optional

The Division Resurgence includes extensive RPG progression through five specialisations: Demolitionist, Bulwark, Field Medic, Tech Operator, and Vanguard. Each comes with distinct skills and an ultimate ability, and can switch roles to better fit a preferred style or a team’s needs.

Gear and weapon customisation also remain part of the core loop, reflecting the series’ broader identity as much as its firefights do. The goal is to keep long-term build crafting relevant, rather than treating mobile progression as a shallow grind.

Dark Zone Returns, Alongside Dedicated PvP

The game also includes the Dark Zone as a PvPvE area built around high-stakes extraction, continuing one of the series’ defining activity formats. Alongside that, Conflict provides a dedicated PvP mode focused on map control within a limited time, offering a clearer competitive lane separate from the open world.

The open-world layer also includes rotating objectives and repeatable activities, such as securing outposts, rescuing hostages, disrupting deals, and completing weekly quests. For the endgame, Ubisoft is highlighting modes like Legendary Challenge, which re-rolls missions at the ultimate difficulty level, and Lone Wolf Challenge, a performance-based training ladder designed to increase rewards as difficulty increases. Clan systems are also supported, with facility upgrades tied to group contribution.

Enemy Factions and Post-Launch Updates

The Division Resurgence brings back familiar factions, including Raiders, Rikers, and Cleaners, while adding a new group called Freemen, described as scavenger-obsessed and known for exotic homemade weapons. Ubisoft has also stated that additional content updates will follow launch, positioning the mobile release as a continuing service rather than a one-off drop.

The Division Resurgence is available now worldwide on iOS and Android.
