Warhammer Classics Launches With 20+ Preserved PC Titles
Boutique publisher SNEG has launched Warhammer Classics, a new preservation label created with Games Workshop and multiple developer and publisher partners to bring a large slate of legacy Warhammer PC games back to Steam. The initiative restores more than 20 titles in a form designed to run smoothly on modern hardware, aiming to make these games accessible again without rewriting what made them distinctive in the first place.
For Warhammer’s video game history, this is a meaningful consolidation moment. The franchise has been a constant presence on PC since the 1990s, spanning real-time strategy, turn-based tactics, board game adaptations, fantasy sports and first-person shooters.
Warhammer Classics packages that spread into a single, ongoing banner, with several games making their Steam debut alongside a wave of returns to the storefront.
Seven Games Make Their Steam Debut, with 12 Returning
SNEG says seven classic titles are making their Steam debut under Warhammer Classics:
- Warhammer: Shadow of the Horned Rat
- Final Liberation: Warhammer Epic 40,000
- Warhammer 40,000: Chaos Gate
- Warhammer 40,000: Rites of War
- Warhammer: Dark Omen
- Warhammer 40,000: Fire Warrior
- Warhammer: Mark of Chaos – Gold Edition
In addition, 12 games are returning to Steam, including Space Hulk, Space Hulk: Ascension, Warhammer 40,000: Armageddon, Warhammer 40,000: Sanctus Reach, multiple Talisman releases, Man O’ War: Corsair, Warhammer Quest titles, and Chainsaw Warrior releases.
Updated for Modern Compatibility, with Launch Discounts and Bundles
Each title in the launch line-up has been updated for compatibility with modern systems, maintaining the original gameplay experience while ensuring reliable performance on current hardware. To mark the label’s debut, SNEG is offering limited-time discounts and curated bundles for one week across the catalogue.
SNEG director Oleg Klapovskiy framed the project as long-term stewardship rather than a one-off drop: “Warhammer Classics is more than a collection of re-releases. It’s a clear statement of intent: that Warhammer’s foundational games matter, and that they are worth preserving, celebrated, and reintroduced to a global PC audience.”
The Full Warhammer Classics Banner Is Broader Than the Launch Highlights

Beyond the initial headline classics, Warhammer Classics also includes a wider set of titles under its banner, ranging from Dawn of War Anniversary Editions to Battlefleet Gothic: Armada and Blood Bowl Legendary Editions. The message is clear: this label is designed to cover the last 30 years of Warhammer’s PC footprint, not just a handful of nostalgia picks.
SNEG also notes that, due to the age of some entries, certain content may not reflect current Warhammer lore or presentation standards, reinforcing the preservation-first, modernisation-second approach.
