Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 New Crew Steps Into Night City

Cyberpunk: Edgerunners became one of the rare game adaptations that did more than simply expand its source material. Studio Trigger’s anime gave Cyberpunk 2077 a fresh cultural moment, drawing new attention to Night City through sharp animation, emotional storytelling, and a cast that left a lasting impression on viewers.

That success is why anticipation around Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 has remained so high. Rather than returning directly to David and Lucy’s story, the sequel is introducing a new standalone crew built around a different corner of Night City.

Ahead of its next major trailer, CD Projekt Red, Studio Trigger, and Netflix have revealed the four central characters leading the new 10-episode anime: Weak Kingsley, D, Roman Carax, and Talia Yang.

Weak Kingsley Carries the Weight of a Former Legend

Standing at the back of the new key visual, Weak Kingsley is introduced as a veteran Edgerunner once known as “King”.

His description immediately suggests someone carrying the burden of past glory. In a city obsessed with status, reputation, and survival, being remembered as a legend may be as dangerous as being forgotten.

That makes Weak one of the more intriguing additions to the cast. Rather than starting from the bottom like many Night City strivers, he appears to be someone already haunted by what he used to be.

D Brings Revenge Into the Crew

D sits on the far left of the visual and is described as a Snake Nation Netrunner hunting the killer who wiped out his clan. That sets him up as one of the more revenge-driven figures in the new crew. It also gives Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 a clear route into the darker side of Night City’s faction conflicts, where personal loss and tech expertise can become a dangerous combination.

Netrunners have always been among the most visually and narratively flexible elements of the Cyberpunk universe, so D could become a key figure in how the sequel explores information, memory, and control.

Roman Carax Searches for Real Stories

Roman Carax, the smaller figure seated at the front of the visual, brings a different energy to the group. He is described as a young cinephile searching for real stories in a city that has largely abandoned cinema in favour of braindances.

That detail could give the sequel one of its more reflective angles. In a world where people consume memories and sensations as entertainment, Roman’s interest in cinema feels almost old-fashioned but also strangely rebellious. His role may help Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 explore how Night City packages truth, spectacle, and trauma for an audience.

Talia Yang Embraces Chrome and Violence

Talia Yang stands on the far right of the visual, and her introduction is blunt: she comes from the corpo towers, but her heart belongs to chrome and violence.

That contrast gives her an immediate edge. She appears to come from privilege, but her fascination with augmentation and conflict suggests she may be drawn to the same chaos that destroys so many people in Night City. With her masked design and sharp visual identity, Talia already looks like one of the sequel’s most dangerous characters, even before the next trailer properly shows her in motion.

Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 Arrives on Netflix This Fall

Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 is currently scheduled to premiere on Netflix during the Fall 2026 anime season. An exact release date has not been announced at the time of writing.

Studio Trigger is returning for the sequel, with CD Projekt Red continuing to expand the wider Cyberpunk universe beyond the game itself. The new crew reveal makes one thing clear: Night City is not done burning through people just yet.
