MARVEL Cosmic Invasion: Siege of Castle Doom Adds a Replayable New Mode

Dotemu and Tribute Games have detailed the new Castle Doom mode coming to MARVEL Cosmic Invasion: The Siege of Castle Doom, turning Doctor Doom’s fortress into a replayable gauntlet filled with branching routes, temporary buffs, permanent unlocks and plenty of traps.

The premium DLC for the successful beat ’em up launches November 10 across PC, PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2, expanding a beat ’em up that has already attracted more than 1.5 million players.

The latest Castle Doom gameplay trailer shows how the new mode goes beyond simply adding another sequence of stages, asking players to decide where to go and how to strengthen their chosen heroes.

Castle Doom Turns Each Run Into a Race Against Time

Doctor Doom’s latest problem is the Cosmic Inductor, a weapon originally designed to stop Annihilus that now threatens to destroy the cosmos itself.

Players must fight through Castle Doomstadt before Doom can fully activate it, with the Siege Gauge adding pressure to each attempt. Taking losses increases the gauge and strengthens the castle’s forces, and if it fills completely, the run ends before players can reach Doom.

Success works in the opposite direction for this mode in MARVEL Cosmic Invasion: The Siege of Castle Doom. Surviving encounters and collecting Battery Cells charges Reed Richards’ Stabilizer, eventually providing access to upgrades that can improve a hero’s chances of reaching the top. Routes through the castle branch as players progress, with different doors leading to equipment, healing, additional Battery Cells, or events that can alter the run’s conditions.

Twelve Perks Can Completely Change a Hero Build

Castle Doom features 12 perks split across offensive, defensive and tactical categories, letting players reshape individual heroes as a run develops. Some encounters offer bonuses for completing specific challenges, but failure can instead apply debuffs. Equipment can provide additional abilities such as force fields or powerful energy attacks, while certain rooms can temporarily grant infinite ammunition or Focus.

Successful attempts also feed into longer-term progression through Reed’s Lab, where players can permanently unlock new equipment, events, and modifiers for subsequent runs. That structure gives the DLC a different rhythm from the base game’s traditional beat ’em up stages, with Tribute Games describing it as an attempt to combine classic brawling with an evolving mode designed around repeated play.

Susan Storm and Doctor Doom Join the Fight

The MARVEL Cosmic Invasion: The Siege of Castle Doom expansion also adds Susan Storm, better known as the Invisible Woman, and Doctor Doom himself to the playable roster.

Susan brings her light-bending powers and force fields into battle, while Doom combines advanced armour, technology and occult abilities. Players who successfully defeat him can also unlock new colour palettes for the game’s existing heroes.

Composer Tee Lopes is returning with new music created for the expansion, while familiar bosses from the main campaign will appear throughout Doomstadt alongside Doom Bots and environmental hazards. More details on the expansion are available through the official MARVEL Cosmic Invasion website.
