Phantom Blade Zero Sales Surpass 4 Million in Just 72 Hours

Years of spectacular trailers, increasingly elaborate combat showcases and growing expectations have translated into a huge opening weekend for S-GAME. Phantom Blade Zero has sold more than 4 million copies worldwide within its first 72 hours, according to an official announcement.

The figure covers its PlayStation 5 and PC launch, giving S-GAME an extraordinary commercial start for its first major premium console project. That momentum had already been building before release.

Pre-orders exceeded S-GAME’s internal expectations within their first five days, while our Phantom Blade Zero review found that the finished adventure delivered far more than the flashy martial arts combat that initially put it on the map. Players appear to have arrived in force in response.

More Than 833,000 Players Entered the Wulin on Steam

The sales milestone came alongside an enormous showing on PC. According to SteamDB’s player tracking, Phantom Blade Zero reached an all-time peak of 833,921 concurrent Steam players on November 1, placing it among the biggest launches Valve’s platform has seen.

That number reflects players simultaneously active through Steam rather than overall PC or PlayStation users, but it gives a clearer picture of how quickly interest converted into an active launch audience.

The strong reception also follows years of S-GAME carefully differentiating the project from traditional Soulslikes. While difficult encounters and elaborate bosses are central to the experience, its faster martial arts choreography, flexible arsenal and wuxia influences push it much closer towards a dedicated action game.

S-GAME Has Not Revealed Its Platform or Regional Split

S-GAME’s announcement confirms the 4 million worldwide figure but doesn’t break it down between PlayStation 5 and PC, nor does it reveal how sales are divided across regions.

That makes it difficult to determine exactly where Phantom Blade Zero has performed strongest. The Steam concurrency numbers clearly show a substantial PC audience, but any attempt to estimate how much of the game’s overall success comes from China, Western markets, or PlayStation would currently be speculation.

What is clear is how quickly the new IP has converted anticipation into actual sales. Phantom Blade Zero launched on October 29, meaning S-GAME crossed 4 million copies before its first full week on sale had even begun.

For a studio that spent years convincing players its extravagant martial arts combat could work just as well in their hands as it did in carefully edited trailers, those first 72 hours suggest plenty were willing to find out for themselves.

Phantom Blade Zero is out now globally for PlayStation 5 and PC.
