Marvel Snap & Mobile Legends Go Offline in Us Following Tiktok Ban

If you’ve been following news regarding the United States and its policies over the past two weeks, you likely haven’t missed the discussion surrounding the potential ban of the short video app TikTok in the country. Negotiations are still ongoing regarding the platform’s operation, but as the team work to get the app up and running again during this supposed temporary ban, the shutdown has unexpectedly claimed more victims in the form of the multiplayer online battle arena title, Mobile Legends: Bang Bang and card battler Marvel Snap.

The U.S. government’s decision to ban TikTok was initially thought only to affect this particular app, but it turns out that it covers everything under the ownership of parent company ByteDance. The company also owns Moonton, the studio behind the MOBA, and also Nuverse, the folks working on Marvel Snap.

Reports from the U.S. gaming community confirm that this MOBA game can no longer be accessed or played in the country following TikTok’s shutdown. The same goes for Marvel Snap, and even video editing software CapCut has been affected by this development.

ByteDance remains optimistic that all bans on its applications in the United States, including Mobile Legends and Marvel Snap, are only for the time being, and service will resume sometime in the near future.

The Chinese company is confident that it will be able to negotiate better once Trump officially becomes President of the United States in the coming days, although it remains to be seen just how that can be achieved, considering the incoming head of state was also a key voice in getting the ban in place.
