Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Imminent With Showcase Set on June 9

Call of Duty Black Ops 6

Another year, another Call of Duty game to take over the world. After a series of teases on social media, the era of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 has officially begun. Not only do we know that a showcase is planned for June 9 after the Xbox Games Showcase, but the marketing machine is churning up, starting with a short YouTube clip of the iconic Mount Rushmore being vandalised.

Naturally, this is but the tip of the iceberg when it comes to one of the flagship shooters that exists in all of gaming. The hunt now is to find out just what the game is all about, including the operators, the time period, and how it all fits into the franchise’s timeline.

At least, according to official marketing taglines, we know that “a dark new chapter of the Black Ops franchise begins” and that “The Truth Lies,” which is probably the most we can expect with just about two weeks to go before the big show.

However, the fans of Activision Blizzard’s first-person shooter are adept at what they do, and hardcore fan account CharlieIntel has seemingly unearthed information that Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 will take place during the Gulf War. This will corroborate earlier leaks that set the time for the 21st game in the long-running series.

Nevertheless, we can expect a hopeful deluge of information to come our way on June 9, followed by what will be predictably short bursts of teases and reveals, leading up to the eventual launch of the game sometime near the end of the year. Some things never change, and perhaps that’s just the way we like it.
