Capcom Next 2024 Recap

Summer means plenty of gaming goodness, and Capcom was ready to deliver when it came to three of its upcoming projects, namely Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster, Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess, and Resident Evil 7 Biohazard, as well as teasing about the next entry for Resident Evil at its Capcom Next event.

Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster

We got the big reveal in late June about Frank West’s upcoming return in Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster, but we didn’t get a solid release date. Now, that has changed at Capcom Next, with the latest trailer showing off the visual upgrades players are in for with the new remaster.

With 4K graphics running at 60FPS, and plenty of other quality-of-life changes coming along for the ride, get ready to slay some zombies when Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster releases on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC on September 19.

Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess

If you weren’t already aware of this action strategy title, then our latest interview and preview should be more than enough to whet your appetite for this interesting detour taken by Capcom. If not, then you can play it for yourself and see how everything shapes up, as a new demo is now available for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.

In addition, as shown at Capcom Next, there is crossover content up for grabs. Okami-themed weapons and costumes are your rewards if enough players experience the demo and help fulfil certain goals. More importantly, getting it done in the demo will mean players will get the same access in the full game when it launches on July 19.

Resident Evil 7: Biohazard

While fans of the undead would have already enjoyed Resident Evil 7: Biohazard back in 2017, the iOS and Mac ports are getting new improvements ahead of its release. Touch controls are getting further optimised, and together with the auto-fire and auto-aim functions, it should make killing zombies that much easier. Menu and inventory management are also going to be touch-compatible, further improving the experience.

As for what comes next for the franchise as a whole, a new Resident Evil game is being developed, with director Koshi Nakanishi at the helm.

“It was really difficult to figure out what to do after 7. But I found it, and to be honest, it feels substantial. I can’t share any details just yet, but I hope you’re excited for the day I can,” said Nakanishi.
