Dispatch Anniversary Update Adds Commentary and Storyboard Modes
AdHoc Studio is celebrating Dispatch‘s first anniversary with a sizeable Deluxe Edition update, a mobile release, new merchandise, and even a live concert, after more than five million players clocked in with the Superhero Dispatch Network.
Available now for existing Deluxe Edition owners at no additional cost, Commentary Mode adds more than 16 hours of material covering all eight episodes. Players can choose between cast and crew commentary tracks, with certain choices opening different conversations as the story unfolds.
The cast track includes Aaron Paul, Laura Bailey and Erin Yvette, among others, while the development commentary offers another perspective on how AdHoc assembled one of last year’s standout narrative adventures. That should be especially interesting given how highly we rated Dispatch for its sharp writing, characters and episodic structure, awarding it a 9.5/10.
Storyboard Mode Shows How Game Came Together
The second addition, Storyboard Mode, goes further behind the scenes by replacing the finished presentation with the original storyboard animatics used during production.

Players can run through the entire game this way, effectively seeing how scenes, performances and visual storytelling progressed from early planning to final animation. Commentary can also be enabled at the same time, turning the mode into something closer to an interactive making-of feature.
Standard Edition owners can access both modes through a US$10.99 Deluxe upgrade, which also includes the existing digital art book and four digital comics. It is quite a turnaround for a project AdHoc once struggled to finish. Dispatch passed one million sales just 10 days after release, and the studio now says its player base has grown to more than five million.
Comes to Mobile on December 9
The anniversary also brings another platform expansion, with Dispatch launching on iOS and Android on December 9. AdHoc rebuilt the game around touch controls and vertical play while retaining the full eight-episode story. The first four episodes will be free, with the remaining game available through a one-time US$19.99 purchase.
Google Play Games on PC will also be supported, with pre-registration and App Store pre-orders opening ahead of launch. More details form part of AdHoc Studio’s wider anniversary celebrations.
Taking Its Soundtrack to the Stage
Fans in Los Angeles can also hear the game’s music live on December 3 at AVALON Hollywood. Composer Andrew Arcadi will perform alongside the SDN Company Band and guests including THOT SQUAD, Bershy, Primer, Caroline Kingsbury and Fartbarf for Dispatch: Night Shift.
New shirts, hoodies, physical Deluxe Edition comics, and signed posters are also joining the anniversary lineup, while Lost In Cult prepares a Dispatch: Design Works hardcover collection exploring the game’s development.
One year on, AdHoc is clearly not treating Dispatch as something to simply leave behind. With five million players, new platforms, and an unusually extensive look at how the game was made, there are plenty of reasons for Dispatchers to clock back in.
