Curve Games and Wild Forest Studio have launched Dragon Shelter on PC via Steam, bringing its cosy blend of farming, town restoration and dragon companionship to players today.
Set in a colourful, hand-painted fantasy world, Dragon Shelter begins with players inheriting a neglected farm from their grandfather, then gradually rebuilding both the land and the surrounding community. The usual farming staples are present, including crops, livestock, cooking and crafting, but the biggest difference comes from the dragons helping with almost every part of daily life.
Rather than simply serving as pets, each dragon brings its own elemental abilities that can make restoring the farm significantly easier once enough trust has been built.
Elemental Dragons Become Part of Everyday Farm Life
The different dragons are designed around specific roles, giving players another layer to consider when planning out their days.
The fire dragon can burn away weeds to create ash for fertiliser and reignite the forge, while the water dragon helps water crops, care for livestock, and even cook. The earth dragon improves soil and tends to earth-based livestock, while the electric dragon looks after its own enchanted plants and creatures once players earn its trust.
That makes dragon management more directly connected to progression than simply collecting companions. Players will need to befriend, nurture and assign them around the farm, with each one offering practical advantages depending on what needs to be done.

The surrounding community also plays a major role in Dragon Shelter. Players will spend time reconnecting with the townsfolk, learning their stories, completing quests and preparing meals that can strengthen relationships and open up additional opportunities.

The core loop still revolves around restoring a farm, building relationships, and developing the surrounding settlement, but weaving elemental dragons directly into those systems gives the experience a more fantastical rhythm.
