Food Devils Steam Next Fest Demo Is Available Now
Studio Daimon has released a new Steam Next Fest demo for Food Devils, giving players another taste of its unusual mix of tactical RPG combat, roguelite progression and restaurant management before its November 3 PC launch.
The Food Devils demo is available now on Steam, and Studio Daimon has also released new gameplay footage showing how expeditions, cooking, and character progression feed into each other. The November release will launch on PC first, with console versions planned later.
Tactical Expeditions Keep the Restaurant Running
Food Devils puts players in the apron of the last chef in a post-apocalyptic world, where keeping a restaurant alive requires considerably more than finding fresh produce.
Adventurers attracted by the dishes can sign contracts with the titular Food Devils before heading out on expeditions to hunt monsters and recover ingredients. Parties consist of one Food Devil and up to four human adventurers, with classes including Warrior, Shielder, Mage, and Healer, offering different options in its turn-based battles.
Expeditions take place across procedurally generated areas, making party composition and tactical positioning important as players decide how much loot they can safely bring home. The structure brings roguelite unpredictability to a tactical RPG setup, much like the shifting party strategies in Shadowstone and its run-based tactical battles.
Cooking Turns Loot Into Food Devils Progression
Success outside the kitchen feeds directly back into the restaurant. Players can turn ingredients recovered from monsters into new dishes, attracting stronger adventurers and opening more possibilities for future expeditions.
Players can also customise and improve their restaurant as the story progresses, creating a loop between fighting monsters, gathering ingredients and building a better business. It is another example of cooking becoming the foundation for broader RPG systems, like where Bancho the Chef similarly blends food preparation, restaurant management and character progression.
The Food Devils themselves offer another layer of progression through Devil Contracts, which can improve an adventurer’s skills and mobility.
Romance Is Also on the Menu

Combat and cooking are not the only ways to get closer to the Food Devils. Players can romance any of the five Devils or encourage relationships between them, and those connections unlock additional abilities.
The studio’s latest gameplay footage shows more of the tactical and restaurant systems players can expect before launch, including how the different parts of the game connect between expeditions.
Food Devils launches for PC via Steam on November 3, with its new demo available now as part of Steam Next Fest. Console versions are also planned for a later release.
