GTA VI Radio Stations Will Follow You Beyond the Car

Rockstar Games has revealed six radio stations coming to GTA VI, but the bigger change is that players will no longer need to stay behind the wheel to keep listening. For the first time in the series, radio stations will remain available while players explore Leonida on foot, using headphones and earbuds connected to the protagonists’ smartphones.

GTA VI is also introducing on-demand podcasts, which can similarly be played both inside vehicles and while walking around the world. It is a relatively small addition compared with the larger changes Rockstar has already revealed across Leonida, but one that could make the game’s audio feel much more integrated into everyday exploration.

Radio has long been a major part of the series’ identity, and players can now keep listening after abandoning a car rather than abruptly leaving a programme or song behind.

Flash FM Returns Among Six GTA VI Radio Stations

Rockstar has previewed six stations on the official Grand Theft Auto VI music page, covering everything from Latin music and African sounds to metal, country, and Southern hip-hop.

Flash FM is the most immediately familiar name, bringing the Vice City institution back with Robyn and Alex hosting a selection of pop music. Elsewhere, Cocoteo FM focuses on modern Latin music including bachata, merengue, dembow and reggaeton, while AfroBank FM, hosted by Burna and Palmsy, ranges from 20th-century African classics to amapiano and 3-step.

GTA VI Radio Stations Will Follow You Beyond the Car

Metal fans get The Chamber 106.6, featuring music from the 1980s onwards, while Back Country Radio brings renegade country music to areas including the Grassrivers and Port Gellhorn. Dirty South Classics, hosted by Trick and Trina, rounds out the current selection with Southern rap and hip-hop.

The variety fits the broader picture Leonida Rockstar has been building, from its extended look at GTA VI‘s characters and locations to each station designed around different parts of the state’s culture.

Rockstar Still Has More GTA VI Music to Reveal

These six stations are only the beginning. Rockstar says more information about GTA VI’s music is still to come, including details surrounding its dynamic score. It has not yet revealed how many radio stations will appear in the finished game or provided further information about the podcast line-up.

For now, previews of the six announced stations are available on Rockstar’s official site, giving players their first taste of what will play across Leonida. GTA VI launches on November 19 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
