Guns of Eschaton Release Date Set for December 8
4Divinity and Eschatology Entertainment have confirmed that Guns of Eschaton will launch on December 8 for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
The date was revealed during the Galaxies Showcase alongside a new Guns of Eschaton trailer, offering another look at the game’s fusion of deliberate Soulslike combat, first-person shooting and occult Western horror.
It gives the project a firm launch date only a few months after its initial reveal. We previously took a closer look at how Guns of Eschaton combines Soulslike pressure with Viktor Antonov’s apocalyptic Western setting, where simply being quick on the trigger will not necessarily be enough to survive.
Every Bullet Counts in Guns of Eschaton
Players control a mysterious gunslinger travelling along the Hound’s Path through a fictional 19th-century America devastated by an apocalyptic event. Combat is deliberately built around scarcity. Players must manage ammunition carefully, while enemies have weaknesses and behaviours they can study through the Codex.
Parries, timing and preparation are designed to sit alongside conventional FPS aiming rather than letting players simply shoot their way through every encounter. Buildcrafting expands those options through different firearms, ammunition types, armour, consumables, talismans and occult abilities.
The full game will feature more than 20 weapons, according to its currently available Steam demo. Players can already get a taste through the free Guns of Eschaton demo on Steam, which presents a standalone section created specifically as an introduction to its combat and world.
Viktor Antonov’s Apocalyptic West Can Be Tackled in Co-Op
The game’s visual identity was shaped by the late Viktor Antonov, whose previous art direction work included Half-Life 2 and Dishonored. Here, traditional frontier Americana collides with occult horror, religion and mythology as settlements and wastelands are consumed by the apocalypse.
Guns of Eschaton can be played solo, but the full journey also supports two-player co-op with progression, letting another gunslinger join the fight. The game will also be one of five titles 4Divinity is bringing to Bangkok later this month as part of its Gamescom Asia x Thailand Game Show 2026 line-up, alongside Genigods: Nezha, Sword Sage: Awakening, Realm of Ink and Realm of Taiwu.

With the December date now confirmed, there is not much longer to wait before players can see whether its unusual combination of resource-conscious gunplay and Soulslike punishment holds together across a full campaign.
