He-Man and the Masters of the Universe: Dragon Pearl of Destruction Launches February 4
Bitmap Bureau, Mattel and Clear River Games have confirmed that He-Man and the Masters of the Universe: Dragon Pearl of Destruction will launch on February 4, 2027 for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
Pre-orders are now open for the retro-inspired 2D brawler, including standard physical copies and two Limited Run Games-exclusive editions aimed squarely at collectors.
A 16-Bit He-Man Brawler With 13 Stages
Visually, He-Man and the Masters of the Universe: Dragon Pearl of Destruction takes its cues from the original 1980s animated series, translating Eternia into large pixel-art sprites and colourful 16-bit-style environments. Players can take control of He-Man, Man-At-Arms and Teela, with She-Ra unlockable on future playthroughs. Each character comes with a distinct fighting style, while He-Man can also ride Battle Cat into combat.
The campaign spans 13 stages, covering locations including the Royal Palace, Vine Jungle and Snake Mountain. Familiar villains such as Skeletor, Evil-Lyn, Beast Man and Trap Jaw will appear alongside deeper cuts including Shokoti and the Shadow Beasts. Two-player local co-op is also supported, allowing a second player to join the fight against Skeletor’s forces.
Collector’s Edition Includes a Power Sword Replica
The standard physical edition includes the game on disc or cartridge, a booklet and a foiled, embossed slipcover featuring artwork by Freddie Williams II. The Collector’s Edition adds considerably more, including lunchbox-style packaging, a SteelCase, character pin badges, an acrylic standee of He-Man riding Battle Cat and a 12-page comic produced by Dark Horse Comics.
The standout inclusion is a He-Man Power Sword replica with its own display stand, while early Collector’s Edition pre-orders will also receive a Masters of the Universe Origins He-Man 5.5-inch action figure while stocks last.
Limited Run Games is handling its exclusive physical editions, while Clear River Games will offer the standard physical release through its own channels and wider retailers.
He-Man and the Masters of the Universe: Dragon Pearl of Destruction launches digitally and physically on February 4, 2027 for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
