Hozy Sandbox Update Gives Players More Creative Freedom
tinyBuild and developer Come On Studio have released the Hozy Sandbox Update on PC via Steam, adding new free content to the cosy home renovation game. The update introduces Game Plus and the first version of Sandbox Mode, giving players more reasons to return to Hozy after finishing its main story.
That is especially fitting for a game built around cleaning, repairing and decorating forgotten spaces until they feel cared for again. As we noted in our review, the game’s biggest strength is how it makes decorating feel personal rather than mechanical.
The Sandbox Update directly expands on that idea by giving players more freedom to shape rooms around their own tastes instead of working only within each level’s original boundaries.
Game Plus Lets Players Revisit Completed Spaces
Game Plus adds new variations to all levels, allowing players to return to previously completed rooms with fresh content and new creative possibilities. Depending on the level, these changes can include new furniture sets, day-and-night options, alternative music, and even entirely transformed environments.
One example highlighted sees a cafe become a music lounge, giving returning players a new way to read and reshape familiar spaces. This should help address one of Hozy’s natural limitations. The original game worked because of its curated charm, but players who wanted more ways to keep decorating now have a clearer reason to come back.
Sandbox Mode Opens Up Freeform Decorating
Sandbox Mode is the bigger addition for players who want fewer restrictions in Hozy. The mode allows players to choose from several room types and decorate freely using furniture, wallpaper, paint colours, windows and flooring from across the game. Players can also pick background scenes, adjust building materials, add support beams and duplicate furniture to create more balanced layouts.
Come On Studio describes this as the first version of Sandbox Mode, with future improvements planned based on community feedback. The team also noted that changing room geometry is among the features expected in future updates.
The update also adds a “choose what to unpack” option, letting players preview furniture and decor inside boxes before deciding what to place first. It is a small change, but one that should make decorating feel smoother and more deliberate.
Free DLC And Seasonal Updates Are Next
The Sandbox Update is not the end of Hozy‘s post-launch plans. tinyBuild and Come On Studio have confirmed that free DLC is planned for September, adding three new levels and another update to Sandbox Mode. Seasonal content will also arrive later in the year, with Halloween and holiday updates already mentioned on the roadmap for 2027.

For a game whose appeal rests on relaxation, creativity and comfort, that roadmap makes sense. Hozy does not need to become louder or more complicated. It just needs to keep giving players new spaces to care for and new tools to make those spaces feel like their own.
The Hozy Sandbox Update is available now on Steam.
