Keys of Fury Turns Typing Into a Full-Throttle Martial Arts Beat ’Em Up This November

Eight Years in the Making, Keys of Fury Brings Key-Fu Combat to PC Players

After eight years of solo development, indie creator Mike Smith — under his one-man studio Elecorn — is ready to unleash Keys of Fury, a wild blend of old-school beat ’em up action and typing challenge. The game launches on November 24 for PC, promising a fresh, tongue-in-cheek take on the typing genre.

Type Hard, Fight Harder

Players take on the role of Tai Ping, a “key-fu” master who punches, kicks, and combos his way through a hand-drawn world filled with ninjas, robots, and rogue vegetable vendors. Set in a stylised 1800s American city, Keys of Fury features multiple themed stages — from chaotic train rides to grimy sewers and sprawling jungle arenas — each requiring players to type their way through every encounter literally.

For those seeking variety, Arcade Mode offers a roguelike twist: procedurally generated battles, random upgrades, and absurd side events like racing raptors or surviving an avalanche of bad puns.

Built for Accuracy and Accessibility

Unlike traditional typing games that prize speed alone, Keys of Fury prioritises accuracy and rhythm. “I wanted to create a typing game that was less about stress and more about fun, regardless of your skill level,” said Smith. “Every keystroke should feel impactful — like landing a perfect punch.”

Players who prefer a creative touch can also dive into the game’s mod support, which allows them to build custom stages with their own words, visuals, and music.

Release Details

Keys of Fury launches on Steam and the Epic Games Store on November 24. Players can wishlist the game now and follow Elecorn on social platforms for updates and behind-the-scenes development insights.

Whether you type 20 words or 120 words per minute, Keys of Fury turns every keystroke into an act of digital kung fu, living up to the adage that the keyboard is mightier than the sword.
