Little Prince Tyger Brings Physics-Driven Archery to PC
Team17 has revealed Saltitude Games’ Little Prince Tyger, a dark fantasy action-roguelite that sends one very small hunter through more than 1,000 handcrafted battles, launching on PC in 2027. Inspired in part by William Blake’s poem The Tyger, the game puts players in the role of a 2D pixel-art hunter tasked by the Queen with finding her missing son, Prince Galaad.
That journey is considerably bloodier than the storybook presentation might initially suggest. Armed primarily with a bow and arrow, players will move through compact single-screen encounters built around precision shooting, environmental manipulation and physics-driven combat.
More Than 1,000 Handcrafted Rooms
Rather than relying entirely on procedurally generated combat spaces, Little Prince Tyger will feature more than 1,000 handcrafted one-screen levels. Each run will still change through different perks and upgrades. Players can alter attributes such as bleed damage, movement, arrow draw speed and projectile weight, while more dramatic abilities can manipulate fluids or slow down time.
Additional weapons can also be unlocked along the way, including javelins, boomerangs, throwing knives and traps. That combination gives the game a slightly different spin on the familiar roguelite loop, with runs built as much around learning how objects and enemies react physically as simply stacking damage bonuses.
Past Memories Fill Out Little Prince Tyger’s Story
The journey will also uncover memories introducing characters scattered throughout its darker world. These include Sauterelle, a Kamanaï warrior players can share meals with, Machiavelli, a gardener hiding something about his past, and Dagaubert, described rather modestly as the king of the world with a big heart.
Saltitude Games is based in Toulouse, France, and describes itself as a small team where developers move between programming, art, audio and narrative roles. For now, the pitch is straightforward: a tiny hunter, a bow and arrow, and more than 1,000 chances for something to go horribly wrong.
Little Prince Tyger is currently planned for PC in 2027, with no more specific release window announced yet.
