Lost Soul Aside Finally Goes Gold, Set for August Debut After 9 Years of Development

After a 9-year wait, Lost Soul Aside has been confirmed complete and will not be delayed any further.

Once considered one of the most anticipated titles in the action genre, Lost Soul Aside has had a long and winding road to release, marked by both excitement and scepticism. Initially developed by a single person, the game gradually evolved into a large-scale project under developer Ultizero Games and with direct support from PlayStation. Now, after years of anticipation and multiple delays, the long wait appears to be nearing its end.

In a welcome update for fans, Ultizero Games has confirmed that development on Lost Soul Aside is now officially complete. While the announcement has yet to be shared on major global social media platforms, it was posted via Chinese social network WeChat by Yang Bing, the creator of the game. According to the statement, the game will indeed launch as scheduled on August 29, putting to rest fears of another delay.

Lost Soul Aside is Ready to Launch

Those concerns weren’t unfounded. Despite the game having a set release date and the clock ticking down, Lost Soul Aside has maintained a relatively low profile in terms of marketing, unusual for a title with such a long history and significant hype behind it. This silence had led some fans to worry that another delay might be on the horizon.

Fortunately, that is not the case. Ultizero Games also confirmed that the team is now focused on final optimisation work to ensure smooth performance across both of its launch platforms: PlayStation 5 and PC.

Lost Soul Aside centres around a protagonist named Kazer and has been in development for over nine years since its original teaser first captured the gaming community’s attention. Throughout its development, the game experienced several delays and was often the subject of rumours and speculation due to the lack of consistent updates.

With development now officially wrapped up, fans can look forward to finally experiencing this ambitious action title at the end of August.
