Ultizero Games Delays Lost Soul Aside to August, More Polish Needed

Eight years. That’s how long fans of action games have been waiting for Lost Soul Aside, a project that initially began as the solo passion project of developer Yang Bing. Over time, the project gradually expanded, evolving into a full-fledged development studio known today as Ultizero Games. The long wait was seemingly set to end in just a month’s time, but now, Lost Soul Aside has been delayed ahead of its original May 30 release.

Together with publisher Sony Interactive Entertainment, Ultizero Games made this announcement via an official post on Steam.

“We are truly grateful for the positive response we’ve received from players all over the world since we announced Lost Soul Aside,” Ultizero Games CEO and game director Yang Bing explained in the statement.

“We remain committed to delivering a high-quality game experience. To match the standards Ultizero Games have set for ourselves, we are going to take some additional time to polish the game. Lost Soul Aside will now release on August 29, 2025. We want to express our heartfelt thanks to our fans waiting for the launch.”

Waiting three more months is nothing significant compared to eight years, so hopefully, fans will understand the team’s desire to make its game even better. For those not familiar with Lost Soul Aside, the game tells the story of Kazer, a lone warrior fighting against a tyrannical empire. However, during a failed coup attempt, the soul of his sister, Louisa, is taken.

With a newfound mysterious power at his side, Kazer sets out not only to reclaim Louisa’s soul but to save the world from destruction. The game promises fast-paced, cinematic combat, drawing clear inspiration from genre giants like Devil May Cry and Bayonetta.

While the game will release on PC, there are features on the PlayStation 5 version that will differentiate the experience. Adaptive triggers and haptic feedback will increase the immersiveness together with 3D spatial audio, and players can expect quick load times with 4K visuals to match.

Lost Soul Aside launches this August 29 for PlayStation 5 and PC.
