Naughty Dog is undoubtedly one of Sony‘s best first-party studios. While not all players may agree with how the studio tells stories — The Last of Us Part II being a prime example — it’s hard to deny that the developer stands at the forefront of showcasing the PlayStation’s technical capabilities. Good news then, Naughty Dog is currently working on more than just Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet.
In a recent episode of the X to Continue podcast, studio head Neil Druckmann revealed a surprising detail: Intergalactic isn’t the only project Naughty Dog is currently working on. According to Druckmann, there’s another mystery game in development at the studio.
He will not be directing this second title. Instead, he’s stepping into a producer role, providing mentorship and offering feedback when needed. He emphasised that his involvement is minimal compared to Intergalactic, which remains the studio’s primary focus.

““There’s another game that’s being worked on at Naughty Dog where I’m [in] more of a producer role and I get to mentor, and watch this other team, and give feedback and be like the executive in the room. I enjoy all those roles, and the fact that I jump from one to the next it makes my job very exciting and always feeling fresh. I’m never bored,” said Druckmann.
Besides this brief tease, Druckmann did not reveal any other information about this second game. He did not elaborate on its genre, scope, or whether it belongs to one of Naughty Dog’s existing franchises or is a brand-new IP. This secrecy has predictably left fans speculating, especially after the cancellation of The Last of Us Online, which was another ambitious project that ultimately didn’t make it to release.
Naughty Dog has also remained tight-lipped about a release window for Intergalactic, and there is still no word on when fans can expect to see real-time gameplay footage. For now, all eyes remain on the studio as it quietly prepares what could be its next big hits—both announced and unannounced.
