New Lollipop Chainsaw Game Gets Its First Playable Demo
Lollipop Chainsaw has gone from cult favourite to active franchise surprisingly quickly. After the release of Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP in 2024 and the announcement of both a new game and anime project last year, Dragami Games and NADA Holdings are finally preparing to show what comes next.
The untitled new Lollipop Chainsaw game will receive its world-first playable demo at Tokyo Game Show 2026, giving attendees their first opportunity to actually get their hands on Juliet Starling’s next zombie-filled adventure.
The project was first announced in July 2025, but no gameplay, platforms or release window have been revealed so far. That should begin changing very soon.
JP Universe Is Developing the New Game
One of the more interesting new details is who is actually building it. JP Universe, the company founded in 2022 by former Final Fantasy XV director Hajime Tabata, is now confirmed as the developer, working alongside NADA Holdings and Dragami Games.
The project is still officially referred to as Lollipop Chainsaw New Project, with both platforms and release timing listed as undecided. What we do know is that it is a completely new game rather than another remaster, and Dragami has previously said the aim is to preserve the dark humour, gore and distinctive tone that defined the original.
The renewed interest also comes at a good time. Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP has now sold more than 400,000 copies worldwide, while total series sales have exceeded 1.5 million.
PeachMilky Returns as Juliet Starling
The playable demo will be joined by several other Lollipop Chainsaw attractions. Official ambassador and cosplayer PeachMilky will appear dressed as Juliet Starling in a new costume created for the upcoming game. The booth will also feature a life-sized 7kg chainsaw prop complete with lighting, engine sounds and moving effects.
Anyone who tries the demo will receive an original keychain while supplies last, with logo stickers also available to visitors. SEGA is supporting the project as its distribution partner in Japan and Southeast Asia, with the game appearing within the SEGA and Atlus partner area.
More Lollipop Chainsaw Details Could Be Coming
Two dedicated stage events are also planned. The first takes place on September 18, followed by a longer Tokyo Game Show main stage presentation on September 19 featuring members of the development team, producers and PeachMilky.
With the game playable publicly for the first time and the development team finally stepping forward, this looks like the point where the next Lollipop Chainsaw starts becoming much less mysterious. For now, however, its official title, platforms and release window remain unannounced.
