Nintendo Switch 2 to Launch in June 2025, Priced at US$449.99

The year 2025 is shaping up to be one of the most exciting years in the gaming industry. Alongside the release of highly anticipated blockbuster games, we will finally witness the arrival of Nintendo’s next-generation console — the Nintendo Switch 2. Previously teased only in brief glimpses, the latest Nintendo Direct event has now revealed more details about this highly awaited console.

In terms of design, Nintendo has made several refinements, including a larger LCD screen with HDR support, bigger and more comfortable analog sticks, and an improved Joy-Con system that can now function like a mouse. These upgrades aim to enhance both comfort and functionality, making the gaming experience smoother than ever.

One of the most significant new features is a dedicated button marked with the letter C, which activates a new function called GameChat. With the inclusion of a built-in microphone that supports noise-canceling technology, players will be able to communicate seamlessly regardless of their distance from the Switch 2. Additional accessories, such as a Camera, will further enrich the social gaming experience.

Storage capacity has also been significantly increased, with the Nintendo Switch 2 offering 256GB of faster storage for accommodating new games and save data. Players who need additional space can purchase a separate SD Card; however, Nintendo is introducing a new proprietary Express microSD Card format, meaning that SD Cards from the original Switch will not be compatible with the Switch 2.

Performance enhancements are another highlight of the Nintendo Switch 2. The console can run games at up to 1080p resolution with 120FPS support for compatible titles. When docked, the Switch 2 can even output games in 4K resolution. Adding to this, the docking station will now include a built-in cooling fan to ensure stable performance during extended gaming sessions.
