Marvel Project Comet Leak Points to a Possible Gacha Action RPG
Gacha games remain among the most profitable genres in gaming when a developer finds the right audience. HoYoverse and Kuro Games have already shown how powerful the model can be through titles such as Genshin Impact, Honkai: Star Rail, Wuthering Waves, and Zenless Zone Zero.
Not every gacha project becomes a breakout success, but the format continues to attract major publishers and IP holders. According to a new leak, Marvel Games could be exploring the same space with an unannounced project reportedly codenamed Project Comet.
Marvel Games has not officially confirmed the project at the time of writing, so the details should be treated as unverified for now.
Project Comet Leak Comes From MultiverSusie
The latest claim comes from dataminer and leaker MultiverSusie, who shared what was described as previously unseen gameplay footage from a Marvel-themed action RPG. According to the leak, the game is reportedly in development at Scopely, the studio already known for Marvel Strike Force.
The footage quickly caught attention because of its stylised presentation and fast-paced combat. Several viewers also drew comparisons to Marvel Rivals, largely due to the bright character designs, superhero readability, and action-heavy interface.
Based on the footage shown, Project Comet appears to be built with mobile platforms in mind. Its UI layout, skill icons, and combat structure suggest a game designed around quick character abilities and flashy team-based encounters.
Gameplay Draws Comparisons to Modern Anime Action RPGs
The leaked gameplay reportedly shows characters such as Juggernaut and Doctor Octopus using multiple active skills during combat. Cinematic ultimate attacks also appear to be part of the game’s presentation, giving battles a style closer to modern anime action RPGs than traditional Marvel console titles.
That has naturally led to comparisons with Zenless Zone Zero and Wuthering Waves, especially in how combat blends character switching, ability rotations, and high-impact special moves.
The gacha connection has not been officially confirmed. However, the combination of a large hero roster, a mobile-focused design, and action-RPG combat has led many fans to speculate that Project Comet could follow a character-collection model.
More Marvel Heroes and Villains Could Join the Roster
MultiverSusie also claimed that additional characters, including Quicksilver, Thor, and Beast, may be part of the project. The leak further suggests that lesser-known Marvel names such as Living Laser and Lady Bullseye could also appear.
That would give Project Comet a potentially interesting angle if the final game moves beyond the most obvious Avengers and X-Men picks. Marvel Rivals has already shown how much fan interest there can be when a Marvel game gives unexpected characters more space. For now, though, the roster remains unconfirmed. Until Marvel Games, Scopely, or another official source reveals the project, all character details should be treated as subject to change.
Marvel Continues Expanding Its Gaming Push
A Marvel gacha RPG would not be surprising given the company’s broader gaming expansion. In recent years, Marvel has appeared in competitive shooters, cinematic action-adventure games, tactical RPGs, and mobile strategy games.
Between Marvel Rivals, Insomniac’s Marvel’s Spider-Man series, and upcoming projects based on characters such as Wolverine and Blade, Marvel Games has been building a much wider slate across different studios and genres.
There is currently no official release window for Project Comet. If the leak is accurate, Marvel may be preparing another major push into mobile gaming, this time with a character-driven action RPG built for the gacha market.
