After a long-awaited period, Rockstar has finally released the second trailer for GTA VI just a few days ago. The nearly three-minute-long trailer is packed with new details, from the various locations of a modern-day Vice City to the various supporting characters that will accompany the criminal adventures of Jason and Lucia. Perhaps the most impressive thing is how gorgeous it all looks, and it’s inviting some questions.
The visuals are so stunning that many gamers expressed their scepticism online, questioning whether the visuals showcased in the second trailer are truly representative of what the final version will look like.
This situation prompted Rockstar to issue an official statement via their Twitter/X account. The studio explicitly confirmed that everything seen in the second GTA VI trailer was captured from the in-game visuals of the standard PlayStation 5 version. They clarified that the trailer is a mix of gameplay and cut-scenes, although they did not provide further details.
Based on the responses that followed the tweet, many gamers are already excited by how good the game looks, even at this early stage. Many pointed to previous titles from the studio having that same level of polish, and the track record speaks for itself.
Unfortunately, they did not say much about the dozens of new GTA VI screenshots released alongside the trailer, where the visual quality appears even more amazing. In the absence of further information, many believe that these screenshots were taken directly from the PC version, which has yet to be officially confirmed.
GTA VI itself is set to tell the story of a couple — Jason and Lucia — who become the main protagonists. They must protect themselves after a failed bank robbery forces them to survive amidst the threats of various criminal groups and unique individuals in Vice City.
GTA VI is scheduled for release on May 26, 2026, for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
