Rockstar Drops New Gta Vi Trailer with Story & Gameplay Snippets

Rockstar Games is sure fond of surprises. After dropping the bomb that the highly anticipated GTA VI will be delayed to May 26, 2026, the legendary studio saw fit to reward fans with the second official trailer for the game. And as always, it delivers sheer gorgeousness and has us excited for a new adventure in Vice City.

Released via the official Rockstar Games YouTube channel, we get a closer look at the other half of the equation, Jason Duval. Setting the scene of what seems to be the beginning of the game, it isn’t long before Duval is reunited with his paramour, Lucia Caminos.

In search of what appears to be a better life, the pair will suddenly find themselves in “the middle of a conspiracy stretching across the state of Leonida” and “forced to rely on each other more than ever if they want to make it out alive.”

From what we are seeing from the trailer, the city and the environments that players will be dropped into are definitely full of life and things to do. There are places to see and locations to be, and of course, crimes to commit. There appear to be more heists, underground fights, and even a plane or two to be hijacked.

The police won’t be far behind either, and it remains to be seen just how Rockstar has evolved that particular side of the experience in GTA VI. There is also a level of familiarity to the proceedings, with the iconic Ammu-Nation chain of gun stores set to return once again in this new entry.

At the heart of it all will be the relationship and developing story of Lucia and Jason, and knowing what the studio can deliver narratively, it will be worth the wait. And what a wait that will be. We are a year away from the launch of GTA VI, and that will leave plenty of time for Rockstar Games to continue working on another epic game, and more trailers to drop to tantalise and tease.

GTA VI will launch on May 26, 2026, on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
