In the midst of such a heavy workload, it would seem far-fetched to expect Rockstar to pay any attention to its other franchises, particularly Red Dead Redemption. However, that appears to be just the case.
Over the past month, the internet has been buzzing with rumours and speculation surrounding Red Dead Redemption. More specifically, the whispers suggest that the second instalment of the franchise could be getting a current-gen update, and potentially a release on the Nintendo Switch 2 console.
Although Rockstar Games has yet to issue any official statements, the speculation has intensified significantly after a recent livestream from Rob Wiethoff, the voice actor behind the beloved character John Marston. During the stream (spotted on Reddit), Wiethoff dropped some tantalising hints that Rockstar may indeed be preparing something major tied to the game.
Wiethoff revealed that he is extremely excited about an upcoming announcement related to the series. While he refrained from sharing any concrete details, he hinted that the official reveal is expected to happen before this Friday. He expressed eagerness for fans to finally see what he already knows.
Adding further fuel to the speculation, Wiethoff made these comments while playing the original Red Dead Redemption, not its more recent sequel Red Dead Redemption 2. While this could be purely coincidental, it has naturally led fans to believe that something related to the first game—perhaps a remaster or port—is in the pipeline.
