Sealbreakers – Where Breaking the World Is the Only Way Forward
Independent developer Fire Sparrow Studio has officially revealed Sealbreakers, a top-down 3D roguelite brawler coming to PC and consoles. The debut title from the Ukraine-based studio leans heavily into skill-driven, hand-to-hand combat, removing weapons entirely in favour of fluid combos, grapples, and bone-crunching finishers.
Sealbreakers is set to be a pure brawling experience, blending classic beat ’em up sensibilities with modern roguelite structure. Each run is built around improvisation and mastery rather than loadouts or gear, placing full emphasis on player execution.
A Knight Seeking Redemption in a Fractured Reality
In Sealbreakers, players step into the role of a knight from the Faceless Order, a disgraced brotherhood sworn to fight without weapons. Given one final chance at redemption, the knight is sent into a collapsing universe where the Seals holding reality together have been corrupted.
Four immortal tyrants now guard these Chaos Seals, each one a former Guardian twisted into an unkillable force. Defeating them means shattering the Seals themselves, even if that means breaking reality further before it can be restored.
The game’s setting reflects this collapse. Ancient monasteries collide with corporate dystopias, myth bleeds into technology, and time and space fold in on themselves as players push deeper into each run.
Evolving Combat That Changes Every Run
At the heart of Sealbreakers is an evolving moveset system. Players begin each run with a basic fighting stance and a limited set of core moves. As arenas are cleared, new abilities are unlocked, including punches, kicks, grabs, launchers, parries, and finishers.
These abilities stack and combine over the course of a run, allowing players to shape a unique fighting style each time. No two runs produce the same warrior, encouraging experimentation and adaptation rather than rote optimisation.
This design ensures that progression is felt directly through combat expression rather than external stat systems.
Combo-Driven, Weapon-Free Brawling
Sealbreakers commits fully to its weapon-free philosophy. Every encounter is won with fists alone, pushing players to learn timing, spacing, and rhythm. Combos flow from strikes into launchers, from launchers into aerial juggles, and finally into devastating finishers that clear the arena.
Enemies can be slammed through walls, thrown into crowds, or dispatched with precise counters. The focus is on maintaining momentum and control, with combat designed to feel aggressive, physical, and responsive at all times.
The reveal trailer emphasises this moment-to-moment combat, underscoring the game’s commitment to visceral impact.
Guardians, Bosses, and Roguelite Progression

Each Chaos Seal is protected by a fallen Guardian, serving as a major boss encounter that stands between the player and progression. These fights are positioned as brutal skill checks that demand full understanding of the player’s evolving moveset.
Between runs, roguelite progression allows players to unlock new starting stances and permanent upgrades. These improvements increase survivability, mobility, and damage output, ensuring that failure still feeds long-term advancement.
A Small Studio’s First Original IP
Fire Sparrow Studio is a small independent team based in Ukraine, made up of three developers who previously worked at AAA studios. Sealbreakers is the studio’s first original IP, born out of a desire to create the kind of games they grew up playing.
While no release date has been announced, the studio has confirmed that Sealbreakers is in active development for PC and consoles. More details are expected as development progresses.
