Sintopia Imployee Retention Update Adds New Tools for Hell’s Managers

Piraknights Games and Team17 have released the first major post-launch update for Sintopia, the darkly comic Hell management sim that turns the afterlife into a bureaucratic business nightmare.

The Imployee Retention Update is available now and launches alongside the game’s arrival on the Epic Games Store. It adds new soul-management tools, quality-of-life improvements, balancing changes, and a fresh facility designed to make the process of handling wayward spirits a little less chaotic.

For a game built around processing sinners, running underworld facilities, and keeping Hell Incorporated moving, this update seems aimed at one of the genre’s most important needs: making the management layer easier to read, control, and optimise.

Soul Gates Help Control Hell’s Traffic

The headline addition is the Souls Gate, a new facility designed to help manage the flow of spirits through Hell. In Sintopia, players are responsible for sending souls through different parts of the underworld, cleaning them of sin, resurrecting the worthy, and keeping the infernal machine running. That means traffic flow matters. If souls are moving inefficiently, the whole operation can clog up quickly.

The Souls Gate gives players another way to control that movement and keep spirits on course towards their intended destination. It is not the flashiest addition on paper, but for a management sim, a better routing tool can make a major difference.

Ground Flattener and Souls Relocator Make Clean-Up Easier

The update also introduces two new tools: the Ground Flattener and the Souls Relocator. The Ground Flattener lets players permanently remove awkward obstacles, making it easier to reshape Hell around more efficient layouts. The Souls Relocator, meanwhile, allows players to send souls back to the Hell Plaza without destroying roads just to fix a traffic issue.

Both additions sound like direct responses to the kind of small irritations that can build up over time in management games. When players are trying to perfect a system, friction often comes from the interface and layout tools, not the challenge itself. These new features should make Hell feel less fiddly without removing the need to plan properly.

Quality-Of-Life Changes Refine the Launch Build

The Imployee Retention Update also includes broader quality-of-life improvements and balance changes. That is a sensible first major update for Sintopia. The game launched on Steam in April and has since earned a Very Positive user rating, with players responding to its mix of underworld administration, Overworld manipulation, automation, and dark humour.

The update’s name may be a joke, but the purpose is clear. Piraknights is using its first major post-launch patch to smooth out the flow of play and give players more control over the systems they are already managing.

Sintopia Is Discounted for a Limited Time

To mark the update, Sintopia is currently available at a 20% discount on Steam until August 10. The game is available on Steam, GOG, and Epic Games Store. Steam also lists support for single-player, Steam Achievements, Steam Cloud, Family Sharing, and 13 supported languages.

For players who enjoy management sims with a cruel little grin, Sintopia already had a strong hook. With the Imployee Retention Update, Hell’s middle managers now have a few more tools to keep the paperwork, punishment, and soul traffic moving.
