Wardens of Avalon Gameplay Takes Players Back to a Fallen Camelot
Camelot has seen considerably better days. Runes Studio and publisher The Arcade Crew have released new gameplay footage for Wardens of Avalon, offering a closer look at its combination of action RPG combat, survival crafting and settlement building ahead of a 2027 PC launch.
Set within a dark interpretation of Arthurian legend, the game finds the Knights of the Round Table corrupted and their estates left in ruins. Players join the newly established Twilight Knights, with Morgan Pendragon tasking them with reclaiming Avalon and rebuilding Camelot.
Doing that means repeatedly heading beyond the safety of your growing fiefdom, fighting through handcrafted dungeons and returning with enough resources to make the next expedition slightly less suicidal.
Classless Combat Lets You Break and Swear New Oaths
Wardens of Avalon does not lock players into traditional RPG classes. Instead, its classless system revolves around various oaths that can be broken and replaced as circumstances demand. Equipment, crafted weapons and magical seals provide further ways to shape a build around particular encounters.
The options shown so far range from stunning enemies with a hammer to using sacred armour for greater offensive power. Players can even assimilate corruption themselves for increased damage, although Runes Studio warns that doing so comes with its own risks.
Dodging, parrying and elemental abilities sit underneath the broader combat system, with large bosses intended to put those different builds to the test.
Rebuilding Camelot Is Part of the Progression Loop
Defeating the corruption is only half the job in Wardens of Avalon. Resources gathered while exploring can be brought back to rebuild Camelot, gradually opening new districts and attracting blacksmiths, druids, apothecaries, herborists and other specialists.
Those facilities feed directly back into progression through crafting and equipment upgrades, while developing the settlement can also uncover new quests and adventures. Players will need to defend their growing fiefdom, too, against corrupted forces capable of launching assaults.
Four Twilight Knights Can Restore Avalon Together
The entire adventure can be tackled solo or through online co-op for up to four players. Groups can form their own order, explore together, manage the same fiefdom and coordinate their builds for tougher encounters.

Avalon itself will span ruined settlements, forests, former Round Table strongholds and other regions containing their own enemies, quests and resources. Camelot may be in ruins, but at least this time rebuilding the place involves considerably more dungeon crawling.
Wardens of Avalon launches for PC through Steam in 2027. A more specific release date has yet to be announced.
