Where the Seeds Fall Demo Is Available Now
With its November launch less than three weeks away, Cygames has released a free Steam demo for ZEREO’s Where the Seeds Fall, giving players their first real chance to test its unusual, descent-focused platforming.
The demo is available now on Steam and is built to showcase the game’s core mechanics rather than simply lift an early section from the campaign. That means players can experiment with its movement, environmental challenges and central descent mechanics without running into major story spoilers.
Cygames also warns that the demo is intentionally challenging, while the full game introduces mechanics more gradually and is designed to be more approachable.
Descending the World Tree Takes a Leap of Faith
The action-adventure takes place in a world where a mysterious Blight has consumed the surface, forcing humanity to build settlements among the branches of the enormous World Tree. Players follow a man who has lost everything until he encounters a Fell Child, a being the surviving population regards as an omen of disaster. Rather than abandoning the child, the pair begin a journey down towards the contaminated surface.
Actually getting there is where Where the Seeds Fall distinguishes itself. Players must navigate collapsing platforms, account for strong winds, and judge potentially deadly drops as they descend through the World Tree. Players can also throw special flower buds toward potential landing spots, creating blossoms that cushion otherwise fatal falls.
Cygames says the full release places considerably more emphasis on narrative and lore than the demo, with its mechanics unlocking progressively alongside the story.
CygamesEdge Makes Its Debut in November
Where the Seeds Fall is also the first release under CygamesEdge, a new Cygames label established to work with smaller and mid-sized development teams. The game appeared during September’s PlayStation showcase, where Where the Seeds Fall was part of the State of Play line-up alongside the introduction of CygamesEdge itself.

With the November 5 release now close, the free demo provides a useful chance to see whether its repeated leaps into the unknown are worth taking before CygamesEdge’s first game arrives.
