Goddess of Victory Nikke Announces Second Evangelion Collaboration

Shift Up, publishers of Goddess of Victory: NIKKE, have announced yet another collaboration with Neon Genesis Evangelion.

Goddess of Victory: NIKKE is a wildly popular post-apocalyptic gacha military shooter that focuses on android soldiers known as NIKKEs. Throughout the game’s many storylines, players assume the role of the commander of a squad of NIKKEs, leading them in a battle against the oppressive Raptures, who have all but destroyed the world.

This upcoming event, set to release on February 20, will mark the second collaboration between NIKKE and Evangelion, and with it comes a continuation of the last collaboration’s storyline set in the Evangelion universe. Characters from Evangelion, such as Asuka, Rei, and Sakura, will play a prominent role in the event’s story, and the exclusive units from last year’s collaboration will make a return along with new unique appearances, giving players another chance to acquire them if they had missed out last time.

The announcement trailer delivers a beautifully animated sequence that depicts what players could expect from the upcoming event. It followed the Commander and the main NIKKE squad, Counters, as they found themselves in the middle of a conflict between a series of Evas. At the end of the trailer, the event’s name was revealed to be A Flare That Cleaves The Red Sea.

In addition to this highly anticipated event, SHIFT UP announced another crossover event between NIKKE and its other flagship title, Stellar Blade. Stellar Blade is a hack-and-slash game that is conceptually similar to NIKKE. It is also a post-apocalyptic action game following a series of android soldiers.

It was released in April 2024, and coinciding with the upcoming Steam port of Stellar Blade, the NIKKE crossover event will launch in June of this year.

Goddess of Victory: NIKKE is currently available as a free-to-play title for PC and mobile.
