Marvel Snap Back Online in the US With Studio Chasing New Publisher

Marvel Snap Back Online in the Us with Studio Chasing New Publisher

It sure didn’t take long, but after Marvel Snap was taken offline as part of the blanket ban on TikTok and parent company ByteDance‘s products, the card battler is now back online, much to the relief of many players in the United States.

This follows the resumption of service for the short video platform as well, with the newly inaugurated Trump administration doing its part in lifting the ban. However, even though this is good news for players, there is a major change brewing behind the scenes.

Through an announcement on the official account on Twitter/X, Marvel Snap developers Second Dinner first confirmed that the game was now playable again, but also followed up with the bombshell that it is seeking a new publisher for “the start of a new era for Marvel Snap.”

This is part of the studio’s efforts to “bring more services in-house” and more importantly, prevent such downtime in the future due to any association with its current publisher, Nuverse, which is a subsidiary of ByteDance.

This is a bold move, to say the least, considering the fact that Second Dinner is still working with Nuverse when it comes to operating Marvel Snap. A situation like this is truly unique, such is the times we are living in, but it will be interesting to see just how things pan out as the new presidency and policies come into play, with Chinese companies coming under the microscope.

Neither ByteDance nor Nuverse has issued an official statement regarding this surprising development. Second Dinner also stated that they will share more information when they can in the future.
