If claustrophobic horror and slimy organisms are your thing, then Survios is working on a new game that will certainly be up your tight, enclosed alley. Alien: Rogue Incursion will be coming to PS VR2 this holiday season, ready to get you all riled up in the comfort of your home.
As revealed at the latest State of Play presentation, this single-player action-horror experience is the first next-gen Alien VR game, featuring a brand new storyline to hook fans and newcomers alike. A high-tension shooter developed with Unreal Engine 5, players will need to stay frosty as they explore an overrun facility on the inhospitable planet Purdan.
Of course, the ever-present danger is the existence of the Xenomorphs, of which there are going to be plenty in the game. More importantly, they are ferocious, unpredictable, and terrifying, and can appear dynamically throughout the environments with countless unique possibilities when it comes to pathing. This means you will never know where they come from, and that is perfect for some thrills and spills.
While heart-pounding combat is the core of Alien: Rogue Incursion, grabbing your pulse rifle and blasting your way out of every situation is not always the best strategy. Constantly hunted by unpredictable and resourceful Xenomorphs, players will often find creativity and a level head to be their greatest weapons, especially when it comes to leveraging the environment to their advantage.
With everything playing out in first-person through the PS VR2, the potential for the game to be a new flagbearer in the horror genre is high. While we never recommend getting anywhere near a Xenomorph in the first place, fans will definitely love getting up close and personal with the Perfect Organism.
