Summer Game Fest: Alan Wake 2 DLC Night Springs Drops June 8

Summer Game Fest Alan Wake 2 Dlc Night Springs Drops June 8

Released last year, Remedy Entertainment‘s long-awaited Alan Wake 2 finally gave players another crack at saving the titular writer from his nightmares. With the encroaching Dark Place getting ever closer to breaking reality, it meant plenty of supernatural happenings and dimension-travelling were happening. Now, more content is coming with the first major Alan Wake 2 DLC in the form of the Night Springs expansion, and it is dropping in just a day’s time, as announced at Summer Game Fest 2024.

If you have played the game, the title of the DLC should be very familiar. The in-universe television show has always held important links to the characters themselves, and this time, players will embody a cast of different characters across three episodes of the show. So, get ready for some crazy shenanigans.

The three characters in the Alan Wake 2 DLC include The Actor, who is a variant of Tim Breaker; The Waitress, the Oh Deer Diner’s Rose Marigold; and The Sibling, based on Control protagonist Jesse Faden. This latter is the most intriguing of all, and this alternate version of Jesse would be one to watch.

If that is not enough, June 8 will see a free update that drops for the game that enables Photo Mode to capture all of the Dark Place in its creepy glory.

Players who have previously bought the Expansion Pass for Alan Wake 2 will be able to access the Night Springs DLC. Otherwise, you will need to shell out US$20 to upgrade to the Deluxe edition of the game. Following this, there is still one more piece of DLC in the form of The Lake House, which will arrive sometime in October.

The official description for that DLC reads:

“The Lake House is a mysterious facility situated on the shores of Cauldron Lake set up by an independent government organization to conduct secret research… until something goes wrong. Explore the Lake House and embark on two separate adventures as the realities of Saga Anderson and Alan Wake collide again.”
