Sony 1000X THE COLLEXION Arrives in Singapore This June
Sony is celebrating 10 years of its 1000X headphone series with 1000X THE COLLEXION, a new premium addition to the line that puts greater emphasis on design, comfort and sound refinement. The headphones will launch in Singapore from June in Platinum and Black, with a suggested retail price of S$839.
The model sits above the familiar WH-1000XM6 range in positioning, leaning into more premium materials and a more elevated finish. Sony says the headband uses crafted metal with a matte sandblasted texture and hand-polished gloss, while the faux leather finish reportedly took two years to develop.
Premium Comfort Meets a Wider Soundstage
The main pitch is not simply stronger noise cancelling. Sony is positioning 1000X THE COLLEXION as a more luxurious listening product, with larger earcups, a wider, cushioned headband, and a stretchable leather design to reduce pressure during extended sessions.
Inside, the headphones use a bespoke driver with a soft edge and a newly developed high rigidity dome made from unidirectional carbon composite material. This setup is designed to deliver clearer separation between vocals and instruments, more delicate high-frequency detail and a richer, wider soundstage.
The company has also worked with GRAMMY award-winning and nominated mastering engineers to tune the headphones, aiming for smoother vocals, balanced instruments and more nuanced dynamics. It is a clear attempt to position the product as a premium audio experience first, not just a noise-cancelling travel headset.

DSEE Ultimate and 360 Upmix Push the Feature Set
1000X THE COLLEXION is also Sony’s first headphone to feature DSEE Ultimate, which uses Edge AI to upscale compressed digital music files in real time. The goal is to restore lost detail and dynamic range, especially for listeners using streaming services or compressed libraries.
Spatial audio also gets a broader role through 360 Reality Audio Upmix, now expanded into modes for Music, Cinema and Game. These can be selected through the Listening Mode button, with further customisation available through the Sony Sound Connect app.
On the noise-cancelling front, the 1000X THE COLLEXION uses the same technology as the WH-1000XM6, including Multi Noise Sensor technology with 12 microphones and Adaptive NC Optimiser. Battery life is rated at up to 24 hours with noise cancelling and Bluetooth enabled, or up to 32 hours with noise cancelling switched off.
Sandstone Joins the WH-1000XM6 Lineup
Alongside 1000X THE COLLEXION, Sony is adding a new Sandstone colourway to the WH-1000XM6 range. The new shade joins Platinum Silver, Sand Pink, Midnight Blue and Black, giving the existing model a warmer neutral option without changing its feature set.

The Sandstone WH-1000XM6 will also be available in Singapore from June 2026, with a suggested retail price of S$649. Sony is also running a pre-order exercise for 1000X THE COLLEXION, with registration open before June 7 for access to selected perks.
