Lost Castle 2 Confirms June 1.0 Launch, With Final Ending and New Difficulty Tiers
Developer Hunter Studio has confirmed that Lost Castle 2 will exit Steam Early Access and launch its full 1.0 release on June 11. The beat ’em up roguelite sequel has sold more than 700,000 units since entering Early Access in July 2024, and the studio is positioning June’s launch as the end of its “Phase 6” roadmap, delivering late-game systems and the story conclusion that Early Access players have been waiting for.
A new gameplay trailer debuted alongside the announcement, leaning into the game’s co-op chaos, new environments, and boss encounters.
What 1.0 Adds: Ending, Hardest Nightmare Tiers, and Deeper Build Crafting
The 1.0 launch of Lost Castle 2 will include several headline additions and systemic revisions:
- Final Story Ending, bringing the campaign to its conclusion
- Ethereal Nightmare difficulty levels 4 and 5, positioned as the hardest challenge tier
- Third Layer Inscription Resonance, expanding inscription synergy and build-crafting depth
- Progression rework and balance pass across out-of-match systems based on player feedback
- The full Early Access arsenal, including weapons, treasures, armour sets, and secrets already released during Early Access
The Third Layer Inscription Resonance is the most significant headline for the system, suggesting that 1.0 aims to expand viable builds and create stronger late-game identity for co-op parties.
Final Early Access Update Is Available Now: Hidden Mage Tower
Ahead of the June 11 launch, Lost Castle 2 has also received its final major Early Access update: Hidden Mage Tower. Available now, it adds:
- A secret level
- New bosses
- Rebalanced single-handed weapons
- A revamped story unlock system
This update effectively acts as the last major content checkpoint before 1.0, giving players a fresh slice of endgame while the studio locks the full release build.

Community Contest Lets Fans Design Gear for the Game
To mark the release date reveal, Hunter Studio is running a community submission contest where players can design weapons, armour, or accessories to be featured in-game.
Submissions are open from April 10 to April 20, with entries submitted via an official submission form and further details available on the Lost Castle 2 Discord.
Lost Castle 2 launches in full on June 11 on PC via Steam.
