CONTROL Resonant Sales Help Remedy’s 226% Revenue Surge
Changing almost everything about Control was a sizeable gamble for Remedy Entertainment, but the early commercial results suggest it is paying off. Control Resonant surpassed 1 million copies sold worldwide within three weeks, making it the fastest-selling game in Remedy’s history.
It is a strong start for an adventure that moves beyond the Oldest House, puts Dylan Faden in the lead, and rebuilds much of the original game’s foundation around an open Manhattan, melee combat and broader action-RPG progression. Our Control Resonant review found that willingness to dismantle the familiar paid off, even if its expansive combat systems could occasionally settle into repetition.
The launch has now had an equally noticeable impact on Remedy’s finances.
Control Resonant Helps Remedy Q3 Revenue Reach €39.6 Million
According to Remedy’s Q3 2026 Business Review, revenue reached €39.6 million between July and September, up 226% from €12.2 million during the same period last year.
Remedy attributed the increase primarily to Control Resonant pre-orders and its first seven days of sales, which fell within the reporting period. Game sales and royalties accounted for €35.3 million of quarterly revenue, while EBITDA reached €6.8 million and operating profit stood at €0.6 million.

The United States was the sequel’s largest market across both PC and consoles, accounting for nearly half of all sales by both revenue and units. On PC, Chinese-speaking regions ranked second and the United Kingdom third. On consoles, the United Kingdom and Canada followed the United States, while Brazil also reached the top three when measuring console units specifically.
Nearly Half of Players Are New to the Franchise
The more interesting long-term figure may be who is actually buying the sequel. Based on Remedy’s analytics, close to 50% of players were new to Control, which the studio describes as an important objective for the sequel. That suggests Control Resonant is not simply selling to the audience built around the 2019 original, but expanding the franchise beyond it.
Plenty of potential players are still waiting in the wings. Remedy says Control Resonant currently has 2.4 million outstanding wishlists, providing another sizeable audience for longer-term sales. Interest surrounding the sequel has also benefited the original Control, with Remedy reporting stronger Q3 sales than both the same period last year and the first two quarters of 2026. Promotions and renewed attention around the franchise helped give Jesse Faden’s original adventure another lift.
With Control Resonant already setting a company sales record and bringing a substantial number of newcomers into its increasingly strange universe, Remedy’s decision to reinvent rather than simply repeat Control appears to have given the franchise considerably more room to grow.
Control Resonant is out now for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
