Get Grappling as Armor King in Tekken 8 This Fall

Armor King is confirmed to be heading to Tekken 8 as a paid DLC character this fall.

Most fighting games do not tell an extensive story, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t games that try. For fans of Tekken, its overarching plot is deep and sometimes confusing, and any newcomers coming in can be overwhelmed. Take the two grapplers King and Armor King, who look to be the same person, but are different fighters altogether, and now, the latter will be making his way into Tekken 8.

Continuing the trend from previous Character Passes, which largely focused on bringing back fan-favourite legacy fighters, Bandai Namco has confirmed that Tekken 8 will welcome Armor King as a paid DLC character in Fall 2025.

The announcement was made alongside a teaser trailer and gameplay reveal for another upcoming DLC character, Fahkumram, a Muay Thai fighter introduced in Tekken 7. While Fahkumram remains a less popular choice among fans, there is more to come. As for Armor King, Bandai Namco has yet to share further details beyond a brief look at his updated design, leaving fans eager for more information.

For those unfamiliar with the lore, Armor King and King are indeed separate characters, despite their visual similarities and shared wrestling style. The two are connected by an intertwined backstory involving rivalry, revenge, and mentorship. Both are grapplers, but each offers a unique playstyle. Armor King typically brings a more aggressive and punishing approach compared to the more balanced King.

With Armor King coming in Fall 2025, prepare for more depth and nostalgia with the ever-growing Tekken 8 roster. After this, the game’s current Character Pass will only have one remaining slot, expected to be filled by a yet-to-be-revealed mystery fighter set for Winter 2025. Based on previous trends, there is strong speculation that this final addition could be a guest character from another franchise, a move Bandai Namco has successfully implemented in past titles.

Tekken 8 is available now on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
