New Story Trailers Sets the Stage for Shinobi: Art of Vengeance

Just a week after showing off the level design of Neo City and the hand-drawn art that marks the game as a stylish adventure, SEGA and Lizardcube are back with more Shinobi: Art of Vengeance goodness. This time, it gives us a better picture of everything that’s at stake in the story.

With the story trailer, the stage is set. The Oboro Clan, led by Joe Musashi, has been the world’s only defence against evil for a long time. However, an unanticipated attack by ENE Corp and Lord Ruse, their leader, decimated the defenders of good.

His village reduced to ashes and his clan turned to stone, it is now down to our hero to exact vengeance and eliminate the threat that is ENE Corp. Along the way, Musashi is aided by an unexpected ally, a magical wolf creature, who can help even the odds against the overwhelming forces of Lord Ruse.

Of course, this will not be an easy task. The ENE Corp is full of dangerous adversaries, and Lord Ruse himself wields a powerful stolen artifact, granting him immortality. It will take more than just a sharp katana to win the day.

In Shinobi: Art of Vengeance, players will need to learn how to execute the ninja arts with precision. That means getting to grips with the fabled great katana, Oborozuki, your trusty kunai, a variety of Ninjutsu arts, and even Ninpo to extinguish the evil standing in your way.

Musashi will also have the opportunity to get stronger, with new and unique combat moves to learn, amulets that grant enhanced abilities to find, and more Ningi tools that will help with traversal and uncover new paths forward.

Aside from the intense combat, Shinobi: Art of Vengeance promises a world full of unique and visually striking levels, leading you from the countryside to miltary bases, all filled with challenge platforming puzzles and hidden secrets.

Shinobi: Art of Vengeance will release on August 29 on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
