Star Wars Zero Company Launch Trailer Prepares the Squad for War
Electronic Arts has released a new launch trailer for Star Wars Zero Company, giving another cinematic look at the single-player turn-based tactics game ahead of its August 27 arrival.
Developed by Bit Reactor in collaboration with Lucasfilm Games, Star Wars Zero Company takes place during the twilight of the Clone Wars and follows Hawks, a former Republic officer who leads an unconventional squad of operatives drawn from across the galaxy.
The latest trailer focuses heavily on what is at stake for the group as they become embroiled in a conflict happening in the shadows of the wider war.
Zero Company Brings Together an Unlikely Clone Wars Squad
Hawks will not be fighting alone. Zero Company includes a varied collection of specialists, including a disillusioned clone trooper, a Mandalorian from Clan Verminoth and a Tognath Jedi Padawan. Players can also recruit additional Operators to flesh out their squad depending on the mission and tactical approach required.
Their main target is Kundri Fathom, leader of a Separatist-aligned cult known as the Infinite Coil. EA says the group poses a threat that could push an already unstable galaxy even closer to disaster. The setup gives Bit Reactor room to explore parts of the Clone Wars away from the biggest battles, with Star Wars Zero Company operating through investigations and smaller tactical operations rather than commanding entire armies.
Turn-Based Combat Puts the Squad at the Centre
Combat is built around turn-based tactical encounters, with players choosing which operatives to deploy and using their individual abilities during missions.
Previous gameplay has shown cover-based positioning, environmental opportunities, and different character abilities playing into each encounter, while the wider structure also places importance on developing the squad’s relationships and effectiveness.
That combination gives Star Wars Zero Company a noticeably different identity from recent action-focused Star Wars games, with Bit Reactor instead leaning into careful squad management and tactical decision-making.
Star Wars Zero Company Prepares for Launch
Star Wars Zero Company launches on August 27 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC.
The Standard Edition is priced at US$49.99 on PC and US$59.99 on consoles, while the Deluxe Edition costs US$59.99 on PC and US$69.99 on consoles. A US$299.99 Collector’s Edition is also available, featuring a themed Hasbro Black Series Thermal Detonator, Steelbook and desk mat among its extras.

The game’s soundtrack will arrive on the same day through Walt Disney Records, with an original score composed by Grammy Award-winning composer Gordy Haab.
With its focus on an expendable but highly specialised squad operating during the final stretch of the Clone Wars, Star Wars Zero Company could offer one of the more distinctive takes on the era when it deploys later this month.
