Street Fighter 6 Year 3’s Final Addition Brings Sun Crests and Teleport Pressure
Capcom has confirmed that Ingrid will be the fourth and final Year 3 character for Street Fighter 6, arriving on May 28 across PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, PC, and Nintendo Switch 2.
The announcement lands alongside a gameplay trailer that frames Ingrid as a mobility and resource character, built around stacking Sun Crests to upgrade her offence. The hook is not subtle: she is meant to feel slippery, unpredictable, and increasingly oppressive once she has powered up.
Mechanically, Sun Crests let Ingrid infuse herself with the power of the sun up to four times, enhancing attacks with extra hits, range, and follow-ups. It is the kind of system that can swing a match if the opponent lets her build momentum, and it also gives Ingrid a clear win condition beyond raw damage.
A Toolkit That Mixes Setplay, Counters, and Air Angles
Ingrid’s moveset leans hard into controlling tempo. Sun Shot is a delayed light projectile that can change angle or speed based on the input and charge time, creating a strong base for baiting jumps or forcing awkward blocks. Sun Flare and Solar Burst then extend the gameplan, with light versions that build Sun Crests and heavier variants that spend them for amplified properties and combo routes.
Ingrid’s offence in Street Fighter 6 is designed to vary by spacing and timing rather than pure frame traps. Sun Rise gives her a spinning attack with multiple strengths to open combos, while Vanishing Sun adds a short-range teleport with multiple destinations to scramble opponents on approach or escape pressure defensively.
On the defensive side, Sun Veil is positioned as a counter that nullifies incoming damage and knocks the attacker down, including absorbing projectiles. The limitation matters: it will not stop Super Arts or multi-hit attacks, which should keep it from becoming a universal panic button in higher-level play.
Supers, Outfits, and How to Unlock Ingrid
Ingrid’s Super Arts continue the sun power motif. Shining Sun is her Level 1, Order of the Sun is her Level 2 with a beacon that calls down solar strikes depending on the button used, and Cosmic Ray is her Level 3, firing a screen-reaching energy beam designed to punish from a long distance in Street Fighter 6.

Ingrid will be available for players who own or purchase the Year 3 Character Pass or Year 3 Ultimate Pass. She arrives with Outfit 1, based on her new dimensional look, and Outfit 2, reflecting her classic appearance, including the purple school uniform.
Her release also closes out Street Fighter 6 Year 3’s character line-up, which includes Sagat, C. Viper, and Alex. Capcom also notes that Outfit 3 for all four Year 3 characters will arrive at the same time as Ingrid, turning May 28 into a clean “final drop” moment for the season’s DLC.
