Rog Ally X Launches July 26 with Improvements Galore

If portable PC gaming is your thing, then you would have probably heard of the countless options that have sprung up over the years. There’s the Steam Deck, the Lenovo Legion Go, and of course, the original ROG Ally. Now, Republic of Gamers (ROG) is taking things up a notch, as the brand prepares for the impending launch of the ROG Ally X, a follow-up device that is bound to excite those in the space.

Seemingly, every concern that users had with the first iteration of the line has been addressed. The 1TB SSD offers more storage, blistering 24GB of RAM to support gaming habits, and an expanded 80Wh battery keeps things going for longer. At only 70 grams heavier than the original Ally, the ROG Ally X’s weight actually did not make much difference as we went hands-on at the reveal with the sexy black device.

Things are made even sweeter with the ergonomic tweaks made to the chassis, with deeper handles and a more rounded silhouette for improved comfort. The joysticks have become more durable, and the new D-pad should make those looking for precision really happy. Together with improved cooling, it allows players to game in comfort, even for long hours. In terms of ports, the original XG Mobile port has now been replaced with two USB-C ports for better universal access.

The improvements on the ROG Ally X are not just on its exterior, as players can look forward to the arrival of Armoury Crate SE 1.5, which features a new customisable game library and unified
system updates. The software upgrade will definitely help players get to all of their preferred games without a fuss and perform better than before.

If all of that has gotten you excited, you will be able to get your hands on your own ROG Ally X at S$1,199 from July 26 onwards at the ROG Experience Store Bugis, ASUS Online Store, and all authorised retailers. Customers who pre-order from June 21 to July 25 will also receive a ROG Gaming Charger Dock 65W (worth S$99.90) and 3 months of Xbox Game Pass (worth $29.90) while stocks last.
